The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings PC/MAC
The Witcher 2: Killer Kings is an action RPG, a continuation of a big hit based on the work of Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
The second episode of The Witcher takes place just after the events of the first and continues the story of Galdt’s defeat of King Foltest. The case is quickly out of control, because in the arena of events there is a mysterious man known as Kingfisher. The White Wolf is drawn into intricate and intangible political intrigue, and his decisions are about the fate of the inhabitants of several kingdoms.
Production again brings us to the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski, who decided to look at fantasy climates from a slightly different side than many other creators. The Witcher Universe is therefore full of monsters, diverse races and magical creatures, but they usually do not like humans, but reciprocally. This leads to many serious conflicts.
The creators faithfully reproduced many places and characters known from the cards of novels and short stories, although they also enriched the world with new elements. Players can visit, among others. Flotsam town with its neighboring forest, dwarf Vergen, Pontar Valley and the ruins of the elf town of Loc Muinne.
We meet such heroes as Triss Merigold, Dagger (bard and Geralt’s friend), Zoltan, Vernon Roche (a member of King Foltest’s Special Branch) and Iorweth (Commander Scoia’tael). Each of them has its own goals, beliefs, value system and personality, which is often presented in movie cutscenes, conversations and comments. Many of the aforementioned characters can become allies and travel with the player – but the creators have added much more of the protagonists, yet we still do not have full control. Fighting is not artificial intelligence.
The Witcher 2 was set up with an extensive system of moral choices that leads to many different combinations of ending games (a total of 16). Sam Geralt repeatedly expresses doubts about his profession, that is tracking and hunting monsters. It is important that the plot and the world of The Witcher 2 are influenced not only by our decisions, but even by who is our companion. In addition to fighting, The Witcher also values other entertainment, such as flirting with women. In this version we do not receive picture cards for “conquests”, but we still have the opportunity to lead to “bed situation” with some representatives of sex.
Serious changes in The Witcher 2 have seen a combat system that is now much more action-oriented. The player can then attack with the sword (punches: fast or strong) and make dodges and blocks. In effectively eliminating enemies, it is very useful to use Witcher Magic, or so called. characters. The novelties are traps and explosives in the form of firecrackers, which are helpful especially at higher levels of difficulty.
In The Witcher 2 character development system has been subordinated to three areas – fencing, magic and alchemy. The rest of our character’s stats will increase as you use them (such as bullying or blocking more effectively), or by items with certain physical and magical qualities.
The visual design of the title is very impressive as the authors put on great models of characters, richly detailed locations and breathtaking views. The towns have been enriched by talking passersby, merchants and residents with whom interaction can often interact. In order to ensure full imaging, the creators removed the site loading screens when entering buildings.
