Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Tomb Raider series is one of the most recognizable brands in the video game world. After the first few hits, the series went through a small downturn and fans returned in 2013 with a great production titled simply Tomb Raider. The title has sold over 8 million copies, so Square Enix has given the Crystal Dynamics team (creators of the series and, for example, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver) the green light to produce another screen. This turned out to be Rise of the Tomb Raider for PC. However, the game first appeared on the Xbox 360 and One in November 2015, and the version of “broom” appeared on the market only after a few months, which is actually the only difference between these releases (not counting much better graphic design in relation To xbox 360).
Rise of the Tomb Raider on Windows PC platform continues the story told in the predecessor. The events that took place on the island of Yamatai left a mark on the heroine, making her a harder and more ruthless and restless woman. This time Lara decides to move to Siberia following the mysterious Prophet, whose purpose is the ruins of the city of Kitje, which is supposed to hide the source of immortality. The story is related to research conducted by the girl’s father, his suicidal death and the law of the Trinity – the eternal opponents of the Prophet and his people.
As for the mechanics of the Rise of the Tomb Raider game on Windows PC platform, the creators remain faithful to the solutions from the previous page. It still plays a significant role in quietly following behind the enemies and using arc-like tools, but there are also sequences in which we engage in regular exchanges of fire. Importantly, locations have become about three times larger – thanks to that we spend more time exploring, looking for different “finds” as well as diverse craft materials. The creators have developed crafting mechanics, giving them the ability to produce a variety of items (eg bandages, molotov cocktails, poison arrows) and more complex equipment upgrades.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a game designed primarily for loneliness. Taking 100% of the campaign can take up to 40 hours, but apart from that, the developers have also prepared other forms of play, including endurance, horde, and:
– Score Attack – Go through each level on time, struggling with slightly changed rules of the game;
– Remnant Resistance – Set your own scenarios with the ability to select some items yourself (mission objectives, enemies, etc. – Expedition Cards can be used for this purpose.) This way you can share your level with your friends, fighting them later for the best results;
– Chapter Replay – Repeats the role-playing mission, using previously acquired equipment.
