Doom 3 Full download to PC and MAC
The third part of one of the most famous action games created for PCs. A player armed with a whole range of deadly weapons confronts the host of bloodthirsty beasts and demons.
Doom 3 is a fictional science fiction shooter FPP, the third fully fledged version of the legendary series of games that set new standards in the mid-1990s for the development of its genre. The developers of id Software, led by John and Adrian Carmack, are responsible for the “trio”. However, one of the co-founders of the brand, John Romero, who left the band shortly after Quake released the studio, was a well-deserved Ion Storm studio. The third installment of the Doom hit the PC / Mac and Xbox.
In terms of features, Doom 3 tells a similar story as the 1993 prototype of the series, although for the needs of the game has been quite clearly developed. It was Matthew Costello, who was responsible for the plot of such titles as The 7th Guest and 11th Hour. The game takes place in the year 2145 on Mars, in a vast research center known from previous UAC corporations (ie Union Aerospace Corporation). This company originally dealt exclusively with space exploration and the development of biotechnology, but after the discovery of the remains of an advanced, alien civilization, it expanded its activities with archeology.
During the game we play as a former Marine, who is just starting work for UAC as a bodyguard. Shortly after arriving, our protagonist is given the task of finding a scientist who has lost information on the way to one of the laboratories. Shortly after his discovery, strange things start to happen at the facility, and contact with the command is completely broken. It turns out that during research on the possibility of teleportation, scientists accidentally opened a transition to a different dimension through which hordes of demons came out of this world. The only surviving hero goes to fight the monsters, trying to survive until they reach their meals and close the accidentally opened portal to hell.
The mechanics of the third Doom game is quite different from the one set for the fast-paced action of predecessors. Although here we are dealing with quite a classic in its assumptions FPS shooting, the whole is enriched by extremely dark atmosphere and numerous elements of horror films, as well as an extended feature film, which is more than just a series of interrupts between missions. This is how the developers tried to combine the best features of the previous series with features such as System Shock 2 or Clive Barker’s Undying. For the first time in the history of the series, in the game we also have the ability to dialogue with independent characters, so that we acquire important information, as well as useful elements of the inventory.
However, the core of fun remains the fight against numerous groups of opponents of different fighting styles, divided into two groups: demons and zombie-themed people. In battle with them, our protagonist makes use of an arsenal of ten deadly weapons, including the more conventional guns, machine guns and grenades – as well as a bit more futuristic in the form of an experimental plasma plot or (previously known in the series) saws The disc player and the powerful BFG 9000 are also equipped with a handheld PDA for reading emails, playing video content and accessing closed parts of the complex. In some stages, we also have to use a flashlight, which excludes the simultaneous use of weapons, putting us at great risk.
Although Doom 3 is primarily focused on single player games, the authors have not forgotten one of the key elements of the multiplayer series. Four classic variants of the game, including Single and Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing and Tournament. In the competition on the Internet or on the local network, up to four players can participate. In addition, the Xbox version has a cooperative mode, allowing you to switch the role-playing campaign to a company with a second player.
