Improved gameplay of 2008, the fourth installment of the iconic Capcom slasher series. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition features a 1080p enhanced graphics, as well as three new playable characters, previously available exclusively on PC Legendary Dark Knight mode, and bonus dresses and skins.
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is an upgraded version of Capcom’s fourth popular Slasher series, which debuted in 2008 on PCs, XBOX 360, and PlayStation 3. Although the game was mainly designed for the next-generation console, It also hit the hand of PC players.
The main protagonist of the series, created by the co-creator of the Resident Evil series, Shinji Mikami, is a young man named Dante who wants revenge on the demons for his mother’s death. Thanks to its unusual abilities, such as the ability to transform into a demon, Dante becomes a tool for eliminating the various pimples that have captured Earth. In this fourth part of the game we also get to know the new hero, Nero, a member of the elite Order of the Knights of the Knights. Having witnessed Dante’s carnage on his cousins, he decides to deal with the murderer. In the course of the story we learn the answer to the question of why the current hero of the series has become a black character and who really hides behind the whole story.
As in previous parts of the series, Devil May Cry 4 is a dynamic, third-person hack’n’slash, where our main objective is to explore the world, solve puzzles and fight demons hordes. During the game we use a variety of swords and firearms, including magical. Depending on the controlled hero, we also use various special abilities, such as the devil’s arm, which can lift any weight and defeat any enemy. The key to success is the use of extensive sequences of attacks, causing the next opponent as much damage as possible. The game also uses a simple hero development system, which allows us to acquire new items and skills in the course of play.
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition on PCs boasts an enhanced 1080p graphics and 60 frames per second. However, the creators did not confine themselves to the visual layer and minor technical fixes, affecting the pace and better balance of the gameplay. There are three new playable characters in the game, Vergil, Trish, and Lady, in which we can alternate between Nero and Dante. The game also includes a previously unavailable Legendary Dark Knight console, available for the most experienced players. The whole is complemented by a set of additional costumes and skins for our characters.
